Zoosk is a FB application from 2007 that has grown into one of the biggest online dating sites. It’s free to start (sign up), free to browse, and free to reply. However, once you get heavily into it, you will want to pay for a membership.
This site also accesses other social media sites like Bebo, Hi5, Tagged, and MySpace.
How Big is Zoosk
This place is an online world community of about 8 million Zooskers and it’s said to be a hotspot for singles who are:
- Ages 20 – 30
- Ages 30 – 40
- Early 40s
On the other hand, just as Baby Boomers have tried to take over Facebook by hooking up with old friends and playing that crazy Farmville, there are many older men and women on Zoosk. In the Seattle area, I see females up to age 68 and males up to age 71. So, it might be worth a try for oldsters to consider Zoosk.

I’m just looking around. Hey, I’m married. However, I was an online dater for many years after my last divorce (and I met my husband online) so I know a bit about dating websites, and the things I like the most about the Zoosk format are its simplicity and its easy, intuitive layout.
You don’t have to give much information about yourself and you can jump right in. It’s perfect for time-strapped divorced men and women.
Details About Zoosk
Every time you log in at Zoosk you get Zoosk Coins, which you use towards things that require payment on Zoosk. It’s a cute idea that keeps Zooskers coming back.
Just like Facebook, you can see who is online in your area and it’s easy to click on a Zoosker’s date card to find out about that person. Then, you can:

- Send a Gift
- Add that person as a friend
Easy Website Design
It’s easy to do a search by age or by geographical area. The layout is so simple that you don’t need to be a native English speaker to use it. And, many Zooskers in the Seattle area are not.
- Everyone is expected to have a photo, but some have goofy pictures.
- You just click on the photo to see someone’s bio.
- You can see all uploaded photos and basic information (such as, what he/she is looking for, perfect date, etc.) for free.
- Searches are up to a 100-mile radius. To search outside your area, just change your zip code, city, or country.
- OMG, after seeing some of the older guys on Zoosk, I’m so glad I’m not dating.
What Kind of People Are on Zoosk?

Meet Women on Zoosk
In the 20 – 30 age range for females, you will find some chubby girls with cute photos, tattooed single moms, beautiful women who might be ps*chos, and women who would make good marriage material if you are a good guy with a decent job.
In the 30 – 40 age range for females, you will find intensely artsy types, pretty girls who are just browsing, stay at home single mothers who signed up because Zoosk is free, grandmothers in their 30s, and women looking for a free ride. However, once you sort through that, you will see some nice looking chicks who sound honest and look sincere. Some of them even like camping.
In the 40 – 50 age range for females, you will find more single moms, several honest goofballs, girls who look like they’d be a lot of fun, and some pretty chicks who come with or without children.
In the 50 and up age range for females, you will find some very high-brow interesting ladies, artsy gals, some highly educated women, more cute goofballs, and some intense animal lovers. A few of these women sound somewhat normal.
Meet Men on Zoosk
In the 20 – 30 age range for males, you will find both hyperactive and mellow hillbilly boys, people who aren’t smart enough to crop out the bottle of booze, several handsome Muslims, quite a few Hispanics who don’t know English, and some nice guys from India. There are two men that my daughters might be allowed to date. Use caution, little girls.
In the 30 – 40 age range for males, you will find some guys who have never been married and it shows, guys who should write some kind of bio or no one will go out with them, several guys who might be good enough for you. Actually, this age range looks a bit better.
In the 40 – 50 age range, some guys are too intense, some guys are too laid back, and some guys are just right. But, these are hard to find. I do see a few men who seem like nice guys who want to settle down. Not too many.
In the 50 plus range, you will find some men who may have done some hard time or some hard drinking, at least one cowboy, and a few guys who I might recommend.
Review of Zoosk
For women: As long as you are very careful and you don’t let anyone know where you live, you might want to try this site, what the heck? It’s free to put your photo on Zoosk. This is not the best site, but it doesn’t cost anything to get started and to look around. Be careful.
For Men: I think this website may be set up so that the guys have to pay to contact a girl. My guess is that, in the long run, it’s free for females but the men pay. That’s life. Get used to it. If you can’t afford the dating site, you can’t afford to date.
Overall Evaluation
Every online experience will be different depending upon your location and your age group. If you are divorced and ready to date, you might as well throw up a bio here because you only need to meet one nice guy or nice girl to have a happy life. However, I recommend that you join other sites, too.
